Stockholm Design Week 2020

Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair

For us the stand out presentation at SFF was Massproductions, designed by Julien Renault and Paul Vaugoyeau. Massproductions encapsulated their brand philosophy in the words “I’m slow”, taking a stand against today’s fast-paced obsession with novelties and growth and our hectic everyday lives. New products on display included the Serif chair and the Roadie stackable bench which won best product of the show! We think Roadie will be very popular.

Since joining forces in August 2019 Very Good & Proper and Isokon Plus have proved to be a fantastic collaboration. Their first stand at SFF was very impressive showcasing both brands beautifully.  Isokon Plus displayed the new edition of the Shell Chair by Barber Osgerby alongside classics by Marcel Breuer and Egon Riss.

Herman Miller displayed their latest task chair the Lino designed by Industrial Facility. Lino marries Hecht and Colin’s design expertise to produce the comfort you’d expect from a Herman Miller (HM) task chair. It has been made to HM’s highest quality standards and rigorously engineered, tooled and tested. The attention to detail is also apparent in the chair’s minimal environmental impact.

David Thulstrup Studio led the way on the Mobel Copenhagen stand with some fantastic new products. The Pair side table collection consists of three variations. A solid lower base table, inspired by ceramic pots, and a higher overlapping table standing light on three feet. When the lower base table is tucked under storage is created, but when desired the two tables can be separated providing a much appreciated additional surface.

Around Stockholm

The Sculptor’s Residence
In collaboration with Copenhagen-based architecture and design studio Norm Architects, DUX and MENU invited us inside the Sculptor’s Residence: a uniquely curated apartment space with displays of objects and furniture pieces to set the scene of a home and artist atelier.

Möbel Design Museum, the museum of Furniture Studies
We were very lucky to have a private tour of The Möbel Design Museum by Lars Bülow.  This amazing collection includes 800 pieces of design-led furniture by over 300 designers. This private collection of Kersti Sandin and Lars Bülow has arisen from a shared interest in Scandinavian and international furniture design.

Adjectives
A collaboration between Note Design Studio and Bukowskis Auction House. Designed as an experience of a physical canvas created to highlight the continuous interaction between spaces, objects, materiality, light and colour. Pictured here the Guise light by Vibia, a pendant lamp where the light source is invisible, emanating directly from the material.
