Maggie’s Centres

Maggie's is a charitable organisation offering free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends. We’ve been working with Maggie’s for years providing a consultancy service to help create welcoming, serene spaces that provide sanctuary and support for people who use them. The centres are built in the grounds of specialist NHS oncology departments and are uplifting spaces, full of light and without any of the institutional references of a hospital or health centre. The buildings have been designed by world-leading architects including Zaha Hadid, Richard Rogers, Wilkinson Eyre and Norman Foster.

Project Lead: Mary Wiggin

We’re honoured to work with Maggie’s and it’s one of our most valued partnerships. We’ve been working closely together for a long time and a have a deep understanding of the role design plays when it comes to providing the care and support Maggie’s offers people with cancer. To help them realise their ambitions, we work on a pro-bono basis supplying furniture and providing all other services at cost, or with a nominal charge to cover administration fees. We’re also involved in supporting Maggie’s work and regularly host and take part in fundraising events. Our founder, Mary Wiggin, has a close relationship with the Maggie’s team and has participated in the Maggie’s Culture Crawl, a part night-walk, part cultural adventure to raise money for the charity.
